Fatal1ty Coaches on the Next Level

Ubisoft’s competitive gaming experience is back again to deliver all of the best elements of an eSports-style competition that makes it fun to play and fun to watch but this year they have added a live reality element to amp up the event.

From April 11th – 13th, 2014, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), The Next Level is taking on a new way to play at PAX East. They have partnered with the fastest growing mobile social app, WeChat and Nvidia, the company that has pioneered the art and science of visual computing, tochallenge players of all skill level to compete on multiple games, genres and platforms.

Competitors test their skills in a selection of games, including Rayman Legends, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Just Dance 2014, and ShootMania Storm, to name just a few. The competition lineup also includes two of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated titles, The Crew™ and Trials Fusion™ as well as Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, Microsoft’s Powerstar Golf and WeChat’s GunZ Dash. At the end of each competition day, The Next Level will be unveiling the mystery game title for the final faceoff!

Switching over from an individual gamer competition format to the creation of a live reality competition, The Next Level is introducing four judges who will hand select show attendees to be on their gaming dream team. At the end of each day’s competition, finalists will face-off on a mystery game title where one player will win the ultimate gaming package that includes a Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo WiiU, Nvidia GeForce® GTX 780, Nvidia Shield and an Astro A40 audio system!  Each day, the coach who has the winning player on their team will have $5,000 donated to the charity of their choice for a total of $15,000 of charity money awarded by the end of PAX East.

The Next Level coaches include eSports personality Scott “SirScoots” Smith who is playing for Gamers Outreach, a video-game industry charity organization that works to use interactive entertainment in ways that improve the lives of others. Pro-gamer Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel has chosen Operation Supply Drop as his charity. They are a military gaming charity designed to build video game filled care packages for soldiers (America and Her Allies) both deployed forward to combat zones as well as those recovering in military hospitals. Game Designer and Pro-gamer Stephanie “MissHarvey” Harvey is going for the win playing for Cybersmile who is committed to tackling all forms of online bullying and hate campaigns. The final coach is SourceFed Host Meg Turney, playing for Child’s Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in their network of over 70 hospitals worldwide.

The Next Level will be also be welcoming back all of the winners from New York Comic Con’s competition; LycanDemon09, MrWeird, Ohmycece, and Nightshroud243. These fierce competitors are all amped up and ready to hit the circuit once again to claim another TNL victory.

Throughout the entire PAX East weekend, they will be doing Q&A with the devs and giving away some awesome prizes through the WeChat app for your smartphone.
