How to kill FAST!

Biggest thing in killing an opponent fast is being, obviously, faster than he is…  But how can you be faster?  Here are some major things I think create speed and give you an edge over your opponent…  I’ll describe how to increase these as well…

1.  Reflexes  –  I believe being physically fit and working out will definitely increase your reaction time and speed…  If you look at any top gamer from the past who competed in a lot of the games I play, most of them are actually in fairly good shape…  A lot of the top gamers came from competitive sports too, so take advantage of this and go run 20-30 minutes everyday…  Takes two seconds to put your shoes on and go do it…  You’ll feel a 1,000 times better after you complete it and get back inside to frag some opponents…

2.  Flick Shot or Trip Wire shot? –  Definitely a flick shot is faster…  It’s about 40ms when doing a flick shot compared to a trip wire shot where you put the crosshair out there waiting for the opponent to cross your crosshair…  Trip wire takes 110ms…  So spend a lot of time working on your flick shots – both left and right…  I know a lot of players who were very dominant going from right to left, but could never perfect the left to right flick shot, which takes a lot of training…  Start taking notice how you approach fights and you’ll see you probably favor having the crosshair on a certain side of your opponent and flicking from there…  Perfect both ways and it will give you an edge for sure…

3.  Knowledge and Experience  –  If you know the map better than your opponent, you’ll always be one step ahead of him,  so playing the map a ridiculous amount will also increase your response time to getting the shot off first…

4.  Sound & Headphones  –  If you have the best sound setup with headphones and you can hear exactly where your opponent is coming from you can really get a huge edge…  I use sound to the fullest in every game, recognizing certain jump sounds in certain situations or even hearing an opponent picking up armor or health…  Doesn’t matter what game; if there is sound you should be taking full advantage of it to get the first shot off and be prepared…

5.  Optical Mouse vs. Laser Mouse  –  I prefer optical as it can move faster and more precisely at a lower sensitivity…  If you use a high sensitivity, then use the laser, but I prefer to have low sens so I can track my opponent endlessly and be very precise long range…  Also, read my tips on Fatal1ty.com and learn how to overclock your optical mouse to 500hz!   It not only makes your moves more precise, but also enhances your frame rate!

Hope this helps you all out.  Go frag some!
