League of Legends Season 3 World Championship

The League of Legends World Championship is in full swing and the best teams from around the world are battling it out for the title, trophy, and money. Right now the World Championship is in its Quarter Finals stage. In the past few weeks, teams from each region battled it out in a group stage format to determine who would go on to the quarter final bracket and join the top placing teams from each region’s LCS split.

So far, the World Championship has been insane! I’ve been trying to keep up with matches each day and it definitely shows that the very best in the world are competing. The matches have been really awesome to watch and it’s only been group stages so far. It’s really exciting to watch because, not only are these teams competing for millions of dollars and the title of best League of Legends team for Season 3, but this is one of the only times you ever get to see teams from across the world battling each other. Teams you normally don’t get to see like SK T1, OMG, or Royal Club, meet up with Gambit Gaming, Fnatic, Cloud 9, and others.

The group stage has been a blast so far. I won’t go into details in case you didn’t get to watch and don’t want to be spoiled, but it’s amazing to see how these teams compare to each other. Word on the street is Riot Games gave all the foreign players high level accounts to practice in Solo Queue and guys like Faker and Piglet absolutely stomped some of the high tier North American players.

As I said before, I don’t want to go into too much detail in case you don’t want to be spoiled, but you definitely need to check out the action. Head over to www.lolesports.com to get up to date. Currently, teams are battling each other in the Quarter Finals and eventually the top two teams will face off in the sold out Staples Center in October!
