Set to be released on October 21,2014, and winner of four E3 critics awards, Evolve is a upcoming sci-fi first person shooter by Turtle Rock Studios. In case you have no idea who Turtle Rock Studios are let me fill you in. Turtle Rock Studios were the masterminds behind the Left 4 Dead Franchise. Evolve is a co-op first-person shooter for the next generation. In the game four hunters are hunting against an alien monster controlled by the fifth player. The best part is that you can choose whether you play as one of the four hunter classes or as the alien monster.

Monster and hunters each have unique abilities that the other doesn’t have. As the monster the player can kill small creatures to evolve and become stronger.Victory for the alien monster is achieved by either killing all four hunters or by completing objectives. If you play as the alien monster, there are a variety of monsters to choose from. Only two have been revealed so far The Goliath and Kracken.

Victory is accomplished for the four hunters by killing the alien monster. evolvePlayers that play as the hunter can choose from a trapper, a support, a medic, and assault class. Each class will also have sub hunter classes with different playing styles. As the hunters players are constantly chasing the monster all throughout the game. The medic class has a cloaking ability that will make healing easier on the player who chooses to play as the medic. That way the medic doesn’t have to worry about being attacked by the monster. Evolve is definitely one game that is worth checking out when it is released. Evolve was nominated as one of the Best PC games of the 2014 Game Critics awards, nominated for Best Action Game and won, nominated for Best Console game, and nominated for Best of Show. Do I need to list any more reasons to check out Evolve? Besides all the award nominations, Evolve appears to be a fun, action packed, sci-fi shooter game for the next generation of shooters that isn’t overly complicated. It is set to be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
