“Watch Dogs” Open World Multiplayer

Up to eight players will be able to venture through the Watch Dog’s multiplayer option. Recently, there was a livestream from the team behind Watch Dogs, answering a few questions about the game. Some of the answers were about the multiplayer functions within Watch Dogs, something I’m personally really excited about! They said the multiplayer is drop-in, but that you can easily disable the ability for people to join your game. Also, there is a feature called the shield. Belanger, the lead game designer, stated, “If someone comes into your game, they can’t come in right after, so you can’t be spammed in that way — unless you become aggressive and start going into other people’s games, then you really become available.” It also was confirmed that up to eight players are able to roam in the open world in multiplayer mode. I’m pretty excited to try this out. It’s reminiscent of the Dark Souls/Demon Souls multiplayer with the drop-in competitive aspect. What do you think about it? Are any of you going to deactivate it?
